Said the famous fish Dory. This bubbly forgetful fish in my kid's movie, Finding Nemo. She was so wise, without even knowing it. She suffered from memory loss and all she had was the present. What a comical character making the best of her condition. During my life, I have witnessed so many changes in the current. I get deviated in so many different directions. Sometimes the current is warm and easy, it lets me just go slowly and restfully towards the destination. But sometimes the current shows so much resistance. It is cold and strong, and it makes me shiver. It has so much force. But what if that resistance is exactly what I need? It is going to require more effort on my part. It is going to require attention and focus. It will make me bring out the best in me, my intelligence, creativity, faith, and strength.

Life is an ebb and flow of situations, conditions, and emotions. When we encounter one of these impediments to the flow, our mind encounters a stressful situation. Our brain hates new things, unknown things. It is going to try to protect us from suffering and keep us safe. It is going to tell us to walk away. How sweet! but not what we need to evolve.

We have been told again and again that having stress is such a negative energy to have and that its constant presence compromises our well-being. But what if we change the narrative and see the positive side of stress? It is necessary as we know, to be afraid a bit, to feel the emotion of fear, because if we don't feel fear we might put ourselves in danger. It is the same about stress, a feeling we experience when attention is needed and an extra "ordinary" situation arises. We can change how we perceive and react toward this sudden abrupt dilemma. We either freak out and start from a place of fear, and continue acting from a place of fear, or we act from a place of energetically enthusiastically charged feeling. The excitement for the positive outcome. We have been allowing growing, once more.

The problem is not the problem, it is us making it a problem. As my wise engineer, dad always tells us, there are no problems only solutions. I may add the only thing that we can't solve is death. I am making myself more aware as time goes by, of this simple notion.

I think, in my humble opinion, that we are more powerful than we think. We have the power to align ourselves with all kinds of positive manifestations. We can create wonderful things from a place of fear and stress. We can allow those two feelings into our lives so we can learn what's behind its motives. Feeling the feels I guess. Going through them, not avoiding them. Observing then reacting.

Living in the present like a "Dory" will help us focus on treading the current. It will allow us to feel all the emotions that arise, and to become more emotionally intelligent. To learn about how we deal with things. What we have to our advantage that Dori lacks, is the ability to remember our previous lessons. To remember how we succeeded in most. We can recall moments where we swam so well! That is our present! and for now, let's remember to....just keep swimming!!!!!
